Hospital emergency rooms can be used in limited situations only:
- If serious injury happened
- When treatment is needed while the occupational health centers and extended-hours facilities are closed
In addition, the Purdue University Fire Department will continue to respond to emergency calls when 911 is dialed from a campus telephone.
*Note: beginning 7/1/09, the Purdue University Student Health Center (PUSH) is NO LONGER an approved provider for Worker’s Comp medical treatment. The only exception to this for someone who is bleeding badly and needs to be stabilized temporarily to be taken to another facility – in that case, PUSH can provide the immediate care then refer the patient to another facility.
