Wilmeth Active Learning Center

Wilmeth Active Learning Center

The Thomas S. and Harvey D. Wilmeth Active Learning Center (WALC) is a new libraries building that is central to campus and is a multifunctional facility. It opened for the 2017 fall semester to all of campus. The WALC incorporates the best new classroom teaching and learning methods and is creating a Learning Commons for the 21st century.

Located in the heart of campus, the WALC serves as a central location for classroom and library space. The 170,390 GSF (gross square-foot) facility houses 27 classrooms designed for active learning. Library study and collaborative spaces are interspersed with the classrooms throughout the building. The WALC is open 24/7 (with some exceptions during the year). The program and design of the WALC creates highly efficient use of university space.
