Northwest Recreation Playfield Project

Due to the expansion and development along HWY 26 west of campus, many of the playfields used by RecWell will no longer be available. To offset the loss of these fields, RecWell is building new fields at the north east intersection of McCormick Road and Cherry Lane. This project is scheduled to be completed by the Spring of 2018. This site will provide lighted Club Sports space for the Men’s and Women’s Rugby Clubs, the Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Clubs, the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Clubs, the Men’s and Women’s Ultimate Clubs, the Cricket Club, and many other recreational programs. These will be high quality fields with in-ground drainage and irrigation. This is a vital field project to serve the outdoor recreational needs of thousands of students. Research shows that students who participate in activities like these are more likely to be successful and satisfied with their college experience.
