Philosophy on Fitness and Wellness: Fitness and wellness need to be enjoyable for it to be successful. While I love running, rock climbing, and almost all competitive sports, this is not the case for everyone. So I strive to find each client's internal motivators, creating a drive and desire towards a healthier and fuller life. Through my sessions, my hope is to not only pass on my knowledge, but also my passion.

Philosophy on Fitness and Wellness: It is never too late to incorporate fitness into one's life.  Simple, easy steps, such as moving more and eating healthier, make a fit way of life adoptable for all.  By making small healthy changes, several medical problems people experience can be prevented or eliminated.  One's investment into living a fit and healthy lifestyle will never be wasted.  It is critical to find fun fitness activities and fresh, healthy foods so one enjoys their new lifestyle.  Health is a lifestyle, so make changes that will last a lifetime.

Major: Bachelor of Science – Health and Fitness, Purdue University

Certifications: ACSM Personal Trainer

Areas of expertise: Sports Performance, Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, Weight Loss, Lifestyle Coaching

Outside interests: Participating in sports, spending time with family and friends, playing with my dog

Philosophy on Fitness and Wellness: I believe fitness should be most importantly fun, and a chance to challenge oneself to better their lifestyle through accomplishing solid goals.  The mode/activity to get to the destination should not be the concern.  Hard work delivers results, every time.  Don't worry about a year, a month, a week, a day from now...live in the moment and conquer today.  After the day is over, if you can tell yourself you gave it your all, you are victorious.  Fitness is won one day at a time.

Areas of expertise: Weight loss, endurance training, plyometrics, circuit training, working with athletes

Outside interests: Spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors as much as possible, Ultimate Frisbee, learning more about fitness trends and equipment

Philosophy on Fitness and Wellness: Being healthy is a lifestyle. You have to want to: eat right, exercise regularly, develop new habits, set goals, obtain your goals and commit to the lifestyle choice of health and fitness.  There are only a few things we have control in our life and our health is one of them...so "just do it!"

Chandler

chandler

Major: Movement and Sport Sciences/Pre-med

Certifications: ACE Personal Trainer, CPR/AED

Areas of expertise: Weight training, sport performance (strength, power, speed, and muscle building)

Outside interests: Learning about the human body, how it can be strengthened, and how it can be healed.  You can honestly find me reading research reports about exercise programming and health benefits.  I find exercise fascinating because of the benefits it provides to the human body.  I like sports, movies, and spending time with friends also.

Philosophy on Fitness and Wellness: I believe that exercise is every bit as psychological as it is physical.  I train mental toughness and will power in my programs because I know that it produces results faster.  I believe the foundation for all forms of exercise should be strength (mental and physical) so I like to see my clients get stronger during all of my programs.

Wes

wes

Degree: Elementary Education

Certifications: ACE Personal Trainer

Areas of expertise: Weight loss, functional fitness

Outside interests: Football, weight-lifting, basketball, reading

Philosophy on Fitness and Wellness:  I believe in functional fitness: fitness designed to mimic everyday life. We live in a 3D world, and we should train that way.  Often, linear isolated movements make us more prone to injury.  Training functionally means working from the ground up with core-engaging, neuromuscular taxing movements that work the WHOLE body.  It is very rare in life for us to use our muscles in isolation (without using other muscles in compound).  Functional fitness is fun, challenging, and rewarding!
