Class Descriptions

Summer Class 2008
Aqua Challenge 45
Grab your swimsuit and check out the Aquatic Center! Class will be held in the diving well; therefore, comfort in deep water is recommended. Utilize the resistance of the water as you increase range of motion, strengthen the cardiovascular system, and condition your muscles. Buoyancy belts (aqua joggers) and aquatic equipment are provided.
Body Sculpting 45/55
Strength training isn’t just for the weight room. This muscle conditioning class is a great way to build strength, stamina, and tone using resistance bands, dumbbells, Resist-a-Balls and more to compliment your exercise regimen.
Cardio Blast 45/55
Looking for an awesome cardio workout? This class is for you! The instructor will lead you through hi-low combos guaranteed to get your heart pumping while moving to the music of your favorite artists.
Cardio Sculpt 45/55
If you’re looking to get a great hi/lo cardio workout with a punch of muscle conditioning in one hour, this is the class for you! This 45/55 minute hi/lo/sculpting combo will guarantee you the workout you’ve been looking for.
Sports Conditioning 45
Whether you play softball, volleyball, football, cheerleading or none at all, this class will help you improve your flexibility, strength, and overall fitness. Functional training, multi-planar movement, and strength training through various drills will guarantee a sweat!
Step-N-Sculpt 45
This basic step class is guaranteed to give you a great cardio workout with a punch of muscle toning at the end to round out your fitness regimen!
Strength Circuit 45
Not for the faint-hearted – circuit stations will improve strength and endurance.
Wild Card
Class format varies depending on instructor’s preference.

Aqua R.E.P. 45
Get out of the gym and into the pool as you experience the benefits of water-based strength training. Because water offers a natural resistance to each movement, the effects of water-based strength training through Repetition, Endurance, and Progression will help you build overall strength and tone while still gaining the benefits of cardiovascular fitness.
Body Sculpting 45/55
Strength training isn’t just for the weight room. This muscle conditioning class is a great way to build strength, stamina, and tone using dumbbells, resistance bands, body bars, stability balls and more to compliment your exercise regimen.
Cardio Blast 45/55
Looking for an awesome cardio workout? This class is for you! Prepare for a fun and cardio-challenging class that combines high and low impact movements guaranteed to get your heart pumping. Cardio Blast fuses the best that floor exercise has to offer including hi/lo, dance, agility drills and kickboxing.
Cardio Kick 45/55
A challenging class that guarantees you will sweat! This strength based class takes you through a variety of punches, kicks, and strikes to give you an awesome workout geared towards helping you increase your muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance.
Cardio Sculpt 45/55
If you’re looking to get a great hi/lo cardio workout with a punch of muscle conditioning, this is the class for you! This 45/55 minute hi/lo/sculpting combo will guarantee you the workout you’ve been looking for.
Core Conditioning 45
Emphasizing core strength and flexibility, this class will target your mid-section without the focus on the traditional crunch. Introducing you to the concept of functional core training, Core Conditioning will also help you increase your level of flexibility, balance and muscle engagement. Great for those who want to improve their all-around level of fitness!
Cross Training 55
Bored with the same old workout? Struggling to break through a fitness plateau? Ready to take your workouts to the next level? Cross Training may help you reach your fitness goals. This amazing total body workout, where you will never perform the same workout twice, will feel like you’re training one-on-one with a personal trainer.
Hip Hop Hustle 55
You don't have to party in da club to shake it like a Polaroid picture, you can bring sexy back in our Hip Hop Hustle™ Class! That's right, there’s no reason to stand under umbrellas, cause you can get that bootilicious feeling as you work it out to the latest beats with easy-to-follow dance moves. It’s the most fun you will ever having working out!
Sports Conditioning 55
Designed for the athlete in all of us! Your instructor will guide you through a series of circuits and drills designed to improve your speed, agility, coordination, balance and power.
Step 45
This high energy step class uses both basic and athletic moves to get your heart rate up and body moving. Learn progressive movements and patterns that will challenge both your body and mind.
Step-N-Sculpt 45
This basic step class is guaranteed to give you a great cardio workout with a punch of muscle toning at the end to round out your fitness regimen!
Turbo Boot Camp 55
This high-intensity workout consists of cardio and strength interval training. The use of Turbo Kick bouts, plyometrics, jump ropes, dumbbells, and steppers will have your heart rate soaring and your sweat pouring! Quick cardio and strength drills will continually raise and lower your heart rate, taking your cardiovascular fitness to the next level!
Upper Body, Abs, Back 30
This 30 minute upper body and core class will introduce a variety of strength training techniques that are fun and challenging giving your upper body a workout that will keep you coming back for more.
Lower Body, Abs, Back 30
This 30-minute class is designed to give you exactly what you need to strengthen your lower body and core through a variety of resistance and stabilization exercises surely to leave you with a new perception on strength training.
Wild Card
Ready for something different? The instructor and class rotate weekly so you’ll never get the same workout week to week.
Group Exercise Policies
- Participation is free Aug. 25 - Sept. 7, 2008.
- Beginning Sept. 8, patrons must purchase a group exercise pass at the RSC Welcome Center in order to participate. You will be required to show your Purdue ID and Group Exercise pass to the instructor prior to each class.
- Equipment will not be available after the start time of class.
- Entry into class is not permitted after the first five minutes of the scheduled start time.
- Proper athletic clothing and athletic shoes
are required.
- Keep yourself hydrated when exercising. Water bottles are permitted—no other food or drink is allowed.
- Please clean all equipment after each use.
- For your health and safety, participation is recommended in no more than one cardio and one muscular training class per day.
