Join Registered Dietitian, Michelle Singleton, and learn how to sift through “junk science” and find the answers you are looking for. No registration required.
September 18: Pre/Post Workout Nutrition
You are physically active, but are you getting the most out of your workouts? What exactly do you need before a workout and what about recovery nutrition? Get educated on these hot topics plus nutrient timing at this special sports nutrition workshop.
October 2: Supermarket Smarts
Grocery shopping can be a daunting task. Learn about the best items to purchase at the grocery store, as well as how to read food labels and strategies for choosing healthier foods.
November 6: Stress-less Eating: Mindful Eating
Mindless eating is something that affects all of us. Discover strategies to make eating less stressful and more relaxed. Attendees will also actively participate in mindful eating activities useful for everyday life.
Financial Fitness Workshops

September 11: Money 101
This workshop will provide a basic overview of money management principles and banking options, including checking and savings accounts.
October 9: Understanding Your Checking Account
Learn checking account fundamentals, such as choosing the best checking account option for you, recording transactions, and reconciling your checkbook.
November 13: Understanding Credit
This workshop will discuss why building credit is important, how to build good credit, and tips for using credit wisely. You will also learn about the advantages and disadvantages of credit cards and how to protect yourself from fraud.

Please dress in loose, comfortable clothing; socks or bare feet are acceptable. All required equipment will be provided. No registration required.
September 24: MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
Mindfulness is the awareness that arises by paying attention on purpose, in the present moment. It is the moment-by-moment process of actively and openly observing one’s physical, mental and emotional experiences, without judgment. Research suggests that mindfulness meditation may reduce stress, improve attention, boost the immune system, reduce emotional reactivity, and promote a general sense of health and well-being.
October 8: REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology focuses on the pressure points of your feet, hands and ears. This type of massage is believed to be beneficial for overall health and is generally used for relaxation and balance.
October 22: YOGA FOR A HEALTHY BACK
Build a healthy relationship with your spine! In this class, we will move through a series of postures designed to help you find and feel proper alignment in your low back, sacrum, hips, upper back, neck and shoulders. We will practice yoga breathing and meditation techniques intended to help you recognize and release tension. You will leave feeling refreshed and equipped with the tools to help you stand up to poor posture. Please dress in loose, comfortable clothing — socks or bare feet are acceptable. Yoga mats and other equipment will be provided.
November 5: MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
By using your own body weight and a cylindrical foam roller, you will perform a self-massage or myofascial release, break up trigger points, and soothe tight muscle fascia while increasing blood flow and circulation to the soft tissues. Please dress in loose, comfortable clothing – socks or bare feet are acceptable. Mats, Foam Rollers and other equipment will be provided.
November 19: RESTORATIVE YOGA
Taking time out each day to relax and renew is essential to living well. Restorative Yoga is a gentle, nurturing, therapeutic style of yoga using props for comfort, stability and balance to ease into various yoga poses. The poses, held comfortably for a prolonged period of time, help you unwind, relax and renew the mind and body.
December 10: A TASTE OF RELAXATION
Escape your daily routine, restore your mind and revitalize your body. Sample various stress reduction techniques including meditation, progressive muscle relaxation and guided imagery. Learn to control breathing and calm the mind through a gentle practice of yoga and deep stretching. Adequate floor space and proper attire is required.
