And if you don’t enjoy it, that just means that you haven’t found the right kinds of exercises for you. There are a lot of options out there to stay fit and healthy, I can help you find what you enjoy!

Philosophy of fitness and wellness

Anyone can achieve a healthy lifestyle.  It takes time and dedication to improve and maintain your physical fitness.  What you eat and how you train will dictate what kind of results you see. The hardest part is starting, but once you get into a routine of working out and eating healthy foods, you will notice the benefits of reduced stress, improved physical and mental health, and enhanced overall health.  Set a goal and start working to accomplish that goal.  Don't be afraid to seek help or ask questions along the way.  “Leave all the afternoon for exercise and recreation, which are as necessary as reading. I will rather say more necessary because health is worth more than learning.” ~ Thomas Jefferson.

Fitness and Wellness is about loving who you are and the body you have right now, and doing everything you can to take care of it. My purpose as a personal trainer is to educate you, assist you, motivate you, and encourage you to be the best that you can be. If your goal is to make exercise/eating better a habit, I am your trainer. If your goal is to accomplish what you thought to be impossible (gain strength or run a marathon), I am your trainer. If your goal is to reduce your risk for disease or improve your quality of life, I am your trainer. But most importantly, if your goal is to look in the mirror and love who you see, I am definitely your trainer.  So let’s get started!

Philosophy on fitness and wellness

As my former coach repeatedly reminded me, "fitness is 70% mental and only 30% physical," I have found that this is absolutely true.  Though I was never the top athlete on my team in high school, it was the determination and consistency that launched me towards reaching my own goals today.  I love sharing with people what I have been taught about how the body works together as an integrated system to create movement.  When a physical problem arises, the source is not always obvious, and identifying the issue in order to rectify it is both exciting and rewarding.  Fitness and wellness is an everyday choice.  Change does happen, only when every area of life (fitness, wellness, sleep, nutrition) is improved upon.  Implementing small changes in moderation and sticking with those good changes produces positive permanent results.

I’ve found through my own experience in fitness that you must do something that YOU love, not necessarily what everyone else is doing to be active. Physical fitness is what YOU make it. Life is too short to stress out about what training program can get you a 6-pack the quickest. Instead, focus on what makes you FEEL good, and the rest will fall into place naturally. It’s also important to remember that with a healthy body, one must also have a healthy mind. Exercise mindfully, eat real foods, and sleep well. Your body will thank you.
