Policies:
- All Aquatic Programming is non-refundable. If any course must be discontinued for medical reasons, the participant may be eligible for a refund of the difference minus a $5 processing fee.
- Registration in Lifeguard Training, Lifeguard Challenge, CPR/AED Challenge, Lifeguard Instructor or Water Safety Instructor does NOT guarantee certification. If certification requirements are not met, certification will not be awarded and no refund will be given.
- Manual and pocket mask fees are not included in the cost of any course. Course supplies are available for Lifeguard Training only at an additional cost.
- All sales are final on the purchase of any textbook or pocket mask.
Course Description and Prerequisites
The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries.
Prerequisites:
- Must be 15 years of age by the last day of the course
- Swim 300 yards continuously (will be conducted on first day)
- Swim 20 yards, surface dive to 10 feet, retrieve 10 pound object and swim back to wall in 1 minute 40 seconds (will be conducted on first day)
