Facility Facts

Opened in 2001, the $17 million dollar Boilermaker Aquatic Center was a cooperative venture between the Division of Recreational Sports, Intercollegiate Athletics and the Division of Health & Kinesiology and was completely funded with gift funds from alumni and friends of Purdue University.

  • 80,521 square footage
  • Permanent seating for 625 spectators
  • 1.3 million gallons of water; Doris Holloway Competition Pool = 8 lane 50 meters, with two Stark moveable bulkheads which can convert into twenty 25 yard lanes
  • Separate dive pool, 17 feet deep with two 1 meter and two 3 meter springboards; 1, 3, 5, 7.5, and 10 meter diving platforms
  • Also housed in the aquatic center is a 12 person Spa
  • The “P” on the bottom of the dive pool measures 15’ tall x 26’ wide
  • 430,000 bricks were used in the construction, if laid end to end– that would reach 56 miles
  • Pool Temps
    Competition Pool: 79 degrees
    Dive Pool: 86 degrees
    Spa: 104 degrees
