English 490—Mods 2/3 Summer 2012

English 490 is a summer course designed to support students undertaking internships. The course seeks to address workplace communication skills during student internships. It is conducted online so students can undertake internships almost anywhere.

This course works for:

• students who need academic credit in order to qualify for their internships
• students who may have an internship credit mechanism in their department, but no class to help them prosper in that internship
• students who are unsure about the writing they will need to do in their internship, and would like the support of a writing/business communication class

This workshop focuses specifically on concerns for those whose first language is not English.  Come with general or specific writing questions and learn about ways the Writing Lab can contribute to your success.

Workshops are free for Purdue students, staff, and faculty.

For newly admitted beginning freshmen and new exchange students who missed the May 5 housing contract deadline, the new student contracting site will reopen May 29.

Non-beginner and transfer students may access the site and sign a contract after June 15.
