Purdue is committed to creating and sustaining a welcoming campus for all. We bring together resources, cultural centers and diversity programs to build a more inclusive community.
A good mix
Growing up in a suburban town outside of Indianapolis, Nicole Cory’s exposure to the international community was essentially nonexistent. Upon arriving at Purdue, she was surrounded with individuals from all over the world.
“Joining Multinational Integration Xchange (MIX) allowed me to develop strong friendships with both domestic and international students,” Cory says. “I have been a domestic MIX leader for the past two years.”
Through MIX, she was also able to help incoming international students adjust comfortably to life at Purdue. This included helping international students obtaining phones, setting up bank accounts, offering campus tours, going on shopping trips, and answering any questions about Purdue and America.
