Natural Disaster Color: By Petronio Bendito

For the past ten years Purdue professor Petronio Bendito has focused on the examination of color._ For this series of mid and large-scale prints he conducted color studies in which he devised color schemes based on natural disasters such as the Haiti earthquake, landslides in Brazil and the tsunami in Japan._ The works function as an interface that acknowledges the fragility of humankind and honors humanity in a subliminal way._ Hope, remembrance, and resilience emerge as Mr. Bendito transposes depictions of chaos and despair into patterns of order and beauty._

The Purdue Reamer Club is pleased to offer FREE RIDE FRIDAYS to the Purdue Community. Pick-up and drop-off are on the west side of Stewart Center about every 15 minutes. All rides are weather-permitting. Rides typically run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., but can vary based on pilot availability. Consult the Purdue Reamers Facebook page for schedule changes.

Dauch Alumni Center Open on Home Game Days

The Purdue Alumni staff will be at the Dauch Alumni Center for each home football game with the Spurgeon Hall of Spirit, Morse Library, and Rudolph Room open for visitors. Come in, grab some popcorn, check out the displays, and take your photo on a life-sized replica of the Boilermaker Special. We'll be open at 8:00 a.m. and close at the start of the game.

Global Fest

Global Fest features cultural entertainment, food and art from Africa, the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. This one-day Global Fest, held Labor Day weekend, celebrates world cultures through music, dance, crafts, displays and international food. Continuous stage entertainment, cultural displays and children's activities are among the free activities. Admission is free._
