Christian M. Reiner
As Purdue University’s director of assessment, Christian Reiner is responsible for providing campus-wide leadership for the development and implementation of a sustainable plan for assessment of student learning for the purposes of informing instruction, guiding curriculum, and improving student learning. Additionally, he provides leadership in assessment strategies in compliance with the Higher Learning Commission’s institutional accreditation criteria, participating in accreditation-related networking and liaison activities such as the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) Accreditation Network and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Academy for Assessment of Student Learning.
Reiner has been at Purdue since 2002, working previously with the Purdue Center for Instructional Excellence (CIE) as an assessment and evaluation specialist, as well as an instructional specialist. He completed his undergraduate and graduate work at Brigham Young University. Prior to taking the position with the Office of the Provost in May 2008, Reiner was consulting across campus with academic units and individuals regarding their learning outcomes and learning-outcomes assessment.
