Study Abroad Opportunities

Exposure to global ideas, thinking, and culture are an integral part of becoming an educated citizen who will thrive in today's society. The University Honoros Program (UHP) encourages its students to incorporate global components into their curriculum through study abroad and other international experiences.

TRANSYLVANIA STUDY TOUR

The UHP is pleased to announce its second honors-only study abroad experience, “Transylvanian Study Tour”, to Romania during spring break 2006. During March 10-18, 13 undergraduate students along with Catharine Patrone, Assistant Director, UHP; Dr. John Kirby, Professor of Classics; and Dr. Jim Nairne, Professor of Psychology and Director of CLA Honors traveled to Transylvania. This study tour traveled to sites associated with Prince Vlad III “Drakulya” of Wallachia, the original “Dracula” of history, and provided increased knowledge of the historical underpinning of the Dracula legend. For successful completion of the study tour, students received 1 hour of credit, HONR 199Z, “Transylvania Study Tour”.
