Honors Societies
Honors societies can enhance the collegiate experience of undergraduate students by providing more opportunities to engage in scholarship, service, and leadership. Honors societies exist in a variety of forms and sizes ranging from larger national organizations to smaller societies unique onto Purdue. Secondly, selection criteria and process vary by honors society; some may require an application, while others may be by invitation only. Purdue offers local chapters of nationally known honors societies like Alpha Lambda Delta/Phi Eta Sigma, Golden Key, and Mortarboard.

Below are a few helpful hints to consider when deciding to join an Honors Society:
- Does the Honors Society have membership dues? Are the membership dues a one-time fee?
- Check out the organization's website if possible. What member benefits do you receive? (i.e., magazine subscription, special scholarship opportunities, etc.)
- Does the Honors Society have a local chapter at Purdue? How can you get involved? Are you interested in the organization's activities and programs?
