UHP Program Outline
Admit 140 students each fall. A limited number of first-semester sophomores can be admitted based on available space. UHP students will represent academic units based on enrollment figures of each school.
UHP will enhance and enrich departmental or college/school honors programs. Normally, the UHP student will complete an honors curriculum in his or her own school or major.
Admission to UHP
Entering freshman will be invited to apply for admission to the program. The Office of Admissions will provide data for the initial screening of applicants. General selection criteria will include performance on standardized test scores, high school academic record, evidence of creativity and leadership, and clear evidence of interest in participating in the UHP community. UHP students must exhibit a desire to be challenged and a willingness to make a difference at Purdue.
Academic Requirements
To continue in the UHP, a cumulative grade-point average of 3.6 (on a 4.0 scale) must be maintained and steady progress toward completion of UHP courses and degree requirements.
Courses
UHP courses reflect a diversity of disciplines. Instructors, chosen to teach UHP courses, will have demonstrated excellence in the classroom and in their discipline. |
