Gingerbread House Decorating
UHP students met at Shreve Hall for the first annual Gingerbread House decorating contest. There were 6 teams of 3-4 students in the contest, however only the top 3 “Best in Show” were selected to be on display in Mrs. Janet Day’s second grade class at Klondike Elementary School.

Thanksgiving Dinner
On Sunday, November 23rd, UHP students and staff gathered for Thanksgiving dinner at the Purdue Memorial Union.
Thanksgiving Dinner attendees were highly encouraged to donate 1 canned good or non-perishable food item to Food Finders Food Bank. A total of 246 pounds of food was collected! The Boiler Volunteer Network and Food Finders Food Bank were very grateful for such a large contribution toward reaching their yearly quota.

Bi-Lingual Alphabet Blocks
Students in Professor Patricia Hart’s (Spanish; Director of Film/Video Studies) HONR 399M, “Migration with a Spanish Accent: A Shifting Human Landscape Viewed through Novel, Fiction, and Practicum” designed a service project. The class made and donated bilingual wooden alphabet/word blocks to a Lafayette Head Start classroom.

Chicago Day Trip
On Sunday, October 19th, UHP sponsored a day-trip to Chicago, IL. Highlights from the trip included the Chicago Architecture Foundation riverboat cruise and a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago.
