The "Fontaine de Tourny" was built in the 1850's in France and it stood for a long time in the "allées de Tourny" neighborhood of the French city of Bordeaux. It was purchased and moved to Quebec City where it was restored. Earlier this year, it was installed in front of the Assemblée Nationale. It is a gift of "La Maison Simons", a Quebec-based fashion retailer, in honor of the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city.
