Faculty Fellowships for Study in a Second Discipline
Faculty Fellowships for Study in a Second Discipline project "Cadaver Speak: Poems from the Dissection Lab". Poems by Marianne Boruch, Professor of English and a reading by students from the IU School of Medicine-Lafayette and the Purdue MFA in Creative Writing Program.
This program offers faculty members on the West Lafayette campus an opportunity to extend their scholarship through a new area of study that complements their major area of teaching and research. This program was established for tenured faculty on the West Lafayette campus to have release time from teaching for one to two semesters to expand their range of knowledge by the study of disciplines other than those in their primary field(s) of specialization. Applicants must propose a program of study in a new discipline through auditing courses, engaging in independent study with faculty outside their home department, conducting interdisciplinary research with faculty outside their department, or other activities that will enhance the interdisciplinary nature of their teaching and/or research. Each year, four to five faculty members are awarded fellowships.
