With all the potential issues with font substitution and missing graphics, sometimes it is a better idea to send a PostScript file ("save as postscript" or "save to file" option in your printer menu) to Printing Services. This type of file cannot be changed by us, so be sure that you have created your document exactly the way you would like it to print. |

Why would I need/want to create a PostScript file? |

In some cases when we do not have the software used to create the file, the only way we can print it is by using a PostScript file. |

| What software do I need to make a PostScript file? |

You do not need any special software in order to create a PostScript file. A PostScript file is created when you go through the process of printing (just like you would to your local printer). |

Not every piece of software is set up the same, so we cannot provide any exact instructions.

| If you weren't given an option to select the location and name of your PostScript file... |

You will need to do a find file. There is no definite location where it will be located. Some applications will place the file within their program folder, others will place it in the last active directory. The best way to search for your file is to do a find file or folder (located under the Start Menu in Windows) and search for all *.ps or *.prn files. In the case of MACs file extensions are not added to the name, search for the file within the last active folder or by the file name. |
