Any of the items listed below |

Articles |

Items or information from a previous publication or webpage |

| What counts as permission: |

Signed letter stating we have permission to use the material (preferably on the owners' letterhead). |

Publisher or copyright house may have a form for copyright permission |
| |
| Printing Services can obtain these copyrights for you or you can obtain them. If you obtain the rights, make sure it is in writing (via letter or fax) and a copy is attached to your Form 3, before we will print it. NEVER accept a verbal permission. |
| If you wish for us to obtain the rights, contact Katherine Rainey, or Cathy Aper. |
| |
| Katherine will be available to answer your questions, help you get permissions, and/or sit down with you to go over your material. We are online with Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. and we are their contact at Purdue. |

| Clearances can take as long as 3 months or as little as one day. It is wise to get your permissions in as quickly as possible. |
| Royalties range from one cent to several dollars per page. You will be notified if the clearance is unusually high or if it has been denied. Some authors have given blanket permission for educational purposes. Katherine will notify you of this, also, to keep with your records. Always keep the original copy of any permission that you have received from an author, publisher, etc. Send ONLY a copy with your form. |
