Our History
Printing Services has been an integral part of the University for many years. In our earliest phase, we began as a small department known as Duplicating Services.
In 1954
The need for on-campus printing grew, the Engineering Administration building was remodeled to allow space for a larger printing facility. At this time, Duplicating Services was renamed Central Duplicating.
In 1970
The need for more than document duplication for a rapidly growing University created a need to, once again, look for more space. In 1971, operations were moved to a newly remodeled warehouse on Nimitz Drive. In 1978, we became known as Printing Services.
In 2007
Printing Services moved into a newly built, 29,000 square foot, state of the art building increasing our production floor by 7,000 square feet. This move confirmed the University's commitment to the value our in-plant adds to the core business.
In 2010
We are the largest printer and mailer in the greater Lafayette area employing over 50 full time employees and running two shifts. We continually expand our services to meet the growing needs of a globally recognized University.
In 2011
On January 3, 2011, the Sign Center joined with Printing Services. By combining our strengths we will be able to expand and improve services to all faculty, staff and students. The Sign Center has supported the University by providing key services such as signage, posters, vehicle identification, name plates, plaques, awards, displays, ADA compliant room numbers with Braille, wall graphics, charts, and visual aids.
