STATEMENT OF POLICY
Upon returning to the faculty, Academic Administrative Officers with salaries on a fiscal year base will be converted to an academic year base salary (normally a reduction of 20 percent). In addition, administrative supplements, if any, included in the fiscal year salary will be discontinued in order to arrive at the adjusted base faculty salary. This applies to faculty who held tenure as either fiscal year or academic year prior to the appointment as an Academic Administrative Officer.
REASON FOR THIS POLICY
Academic Administrative Officers with faculty rank and tenure often return to the faculty after serving as Administrative Officers. As Administrative Officers, their salaries are based on duties and responsibilities that are in addition to or in lieu of duties of a faculty member. This Policy formalizes the adjustment that will be made to the salaries of Academic Administrative Officers upon their return to the faculty.
