STATEMENT OF POLICY

Purdue University complies with federal laws and regulations regarding student recruitment and enrollment practices and establishes measures to prevent fraudulent and/or aggressive recruitment tactics of prospective students, including but not limited to Military Service Members and Veterans. These measures include the following:

  1. No Inducements. The University does not offer any kind of inducement, including but not limited to gratuity, favor, discount, entertainment, hospitality, loan, transportation, lodging, or meal, to any individual or entity or its agents, for the purpose of securing enrollment of students or accessing federal financial aid or tuition assistance funds. Meals/food items may be provided as part of a group recruitment event and when the meal meets the requirements of the policy on Hospitality Expenses (II.A.1).
  2. No Financial Incentives. The University does not provide any commission, bonus or other financial incentive based directly or indirectly on securing enrollment or federal financial aid to any person or entity engaged in student recruitment or admission activities, except that the University adheres to guidance from the Department of Education regarding compensation to third parties that provide a bundled set of services, which can include recruitment.
  3. No High-pressure Tactics. University representatives do not engage in high-pressure tactics to recruit or secure student enrollment. High-pressure tactics include but are not limited to making unsolicited contact three or more times via phone, email or in-person communication, or engaging in same-day recruitment and registration.
  4. No Material Misrepresentation. The University fairly represents the nature of its academic programs, financial charges, and employability of graduates. The University does not provide false, erroneous, or misleading statements that a recipient could reasonably be expected to rely on to their detriment.
