Center Stage: Glee Club BVOI Collaboration

The ensembles of PMO recently combined with the Black Voices of Inspiration for a collaborative concert at the University Church. Here, PMO Director Bill Griffel introduces the crowd to the combined voices of both organizations.

The ensembles sang two songs together at the beginning of the show, “Swing,” provided by the Black Voices of Inspiration, and “Sing a Song” provided by PMO’s Heart and Soul ensemble.

PMO’s Heart and Soul ensemble performed next and delighted the crowd with their soulful and gospel styles.

Purdue Bells performed after Heart and Soul. Their selections included “Under the Sea” from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.”

After the Bells the Purdue Varsity Glee Club took the stage. Their selections also included a Disney number, “Circle of Life” from “The Lion King” as well as selections from the musical “The Music Man.”

The Black Voices of Inspiration took the stage after the Glee Club. The crowd enjoyed a rousing rendition of “Rock-a My Soul” during their set.

PMO’s University Choir took the stage after the Black Voices of Inspiration to entertain the crowd with their three songs of the evening.

The Purduettes were next on the agenda and the crowd loved their resounding chords and perfect harmonies.

For one final hurrah at the end of the evening, the Black Voices of Inspiration and Purdue Musical Organizations combined to sing the greatest college fight song ever written, “Hail Purdue!”.
