Center Stage: Glee Club in Posey County
The Properties Committee began setup for the show on a stage of modest dimensions, and carefully placed each piece of equipment in its place.
Members of the specialty Lighthouse warmed up and harmonized with each other prior to their turn on stage for sound check.
It doesn’t get much better than this! The group Clever Lads sang a couple entertaining numbers before dinner.
Before dinner was served, each course was announced and explained in great detail. That’s enough to increase any appetite!
The show had just begun and the Glee Club rushed into a surround formation to sing “Ambassadors of Song” before running up onto the stage.
Boiler Boys, a specialty group of four tenors, performed songs from the fifties and sixties in the middle of the show.
“Slow Boat to China” was the song chosen for the Glee Club run-out number. Connie Baltzell, a senior, serenaded this lucky lady.
The tradition of bestowing a lavaliere to one’s mother was carried out by Andy Seibert and Connie Baltzell. Here they embraced to thank their mothers for all their support and love.
The audience watched intently as the Glee Club finished the second half of the show, lasting roughly an hour.
Post-show gatherings assembled in the lobby as fans of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, both old and new, purchased merchandise and thanked the performers.
