Center Stage: Glee Club at Indy Scottish Rite

The Glee Club arrived at Scottish Rite Cathedral in Indianapolis after a long, slushy drive from West Lafayette. This is the 71st year that the PVGC has performed at Scottish Rite. Here, the guys warm up with Bill prior to dinner.

As always, a scrumptious meal was provided for the evening. No one went hungry with all the great home cooking provided by the Cathedral.

Here, Junior Jacob Ludwig enjoys his meal with various patrons of the evening. Thanks for braving the weather folks!

Senior Andy “Posey” Seibert enjoys the meal with his mother, Vicky. This was a special show for Andy, as it was his last Scottish Rite performance.

The Gentlemen of the Glee Club filled the resonant hall with their newest Purdue legacy song, “Ambassadors of Song”.

”Praise to the Lord the Almighty” got the show started off to a great note!

Do you notice something different? The Boiler Boys debuted their new Jackson 5 medley with brand new member, Sophomore Allan Summers.

Junior and Tenor II Kevin Norman sings the ever famous solo to “Somewhere over the Rainbow.

During the run out song, Sophomore Steven Sanders used his crooning skills to sweep a lucky lady off her feet.

In the tradition of this being his senior year, Andy Wirtner lavaliered the “woman he intends to marry”, Purduette manager Emily Gorrell.

Ba-na-na cut a rug during halftime and really got the crowd involved during “Shout”.

A brand new specialty has appeared at PMO: The Flashbacks! Comprised of Junior John Lindstrom, Senior Connie Baltzell, Senior Jeremy Clifford, and Senior Noah Demerly, this group sings the tunes of the 70’s and 80’s.

Assistant Director Ted Arthur really went to town on the Ivories during the second half.

Settling all the battles in the group doesn’t come easy! Here the men of the PVGC argue during “The Glee Club”.

Manager Jim Giberson got a little crazy during the song, “Mississippi Squirrel Revival”. The Classic by Ray Stevens, really gets everyone in a crazy mood.

As the song says, even the men of the Glee Club went “berserk”.

Voiceovers wowed the crowd with their new rendition of “Put a Little Love in your Heart”.

To round out the show, Bill directed the Glee Club in two group and crowd favorites, “World Peace medley”, and “Hail Purdue”.

Director Bill Griffel leads the Glee Club in a few “table songs” outside the hall before departing.

As is custom, the Glee Club ended another great Scottish Rite show with their send off, “Good Night Ladies”. We hope that everyone made it back safe in the bad weather and thank those who braved the snow and slush to come see the gentlemen of the Glee Club.
