Center Stage: Glee Club Fall Break Day 4
It was an early morning in Ludington and the properties committee worked diligently to set up the risers and all of the necessary equipment for the convocation.
The Varsity Glee Club and high school students of Ludington had a workshop to rehearse some of the performance details, and even squeezed in a little time for sight reading.
Lunch was served in the Cartier Mansion after all preparations are made for the convocation, and the mayor of Ludington made an appearance before the Glee Club.
Ann Schnitker told of the history of the mansion and acted as hostess for the occasion.
Dessert was served on the ground floor of the Cartier Mansion. Sophomore John Foerster is shown here taking his share of the goodies.
All the Glee Club and mayor John Henderson gathered on the balcony for a short while to take a picture. The balcony was built by the original owner, Mr. Cartier, who wanted to be the governor of Michigan and use the space for speeches. Unfortunately, Mr. Cartier never became governor. A very nice view nevertheless.
The sign of the Cartier Mansion is found just outside the front entrance.
Randy Sarnowski, the featured Glee Clubber of today’s tour, is shown with Bill Griffel, Mayor John Henderson, and Ann Schnitker.
The convocation was performed for students ranging from sixth grade to high school. The crowd just loved the song choice.
Questions are asked by curious students who wanted to know a little more about the inner workings of Purdue and its Glee Club.
Bill Griffel gave the Ludington students direction on how to perform and gives them their respective places to stand on stage.
After the first performance, the Glee Club went on a trip to the beach and even traveled to a lighthouse. The specialty group Lighthouse is fittingly featured here.
Dinner was provided after the trip to the beach in the United Methodist Church. The delicious meal was an enjoyment to all who attended.
Mrs. Sarnowski gave a speech during dinner to express her excitement for Randy Sarnowski’s home performance.
The entire group performed a formal Glee Club show for a large audience in the evening.
Randy Sarnowski partook in the tradition of the Glee Club senior class in presenting a lavaliere to his mother in a sincere and touching moment.
Freshmen Mike Ruff performed a run-out number with the whole group out in the audience. The crowd loved the show!.
