Center Stage: Glee Club Alpha Phi Serenade

As is custom, the men of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club meet up out of sight of the Sorority before entering. Of course, this also provides an opportunity for a little “pre planning” and socialization.

The Glee Club opened the evening by christening the house with a welcoming song and a blessing over the food.

Many of the Ladies of Alpha Phi, including friend of PMO Linda Doyle, look on in wonder at the singing of PVGC. For many ladies, especially new members, this was their first time hearing the Glee Club.

One of the most fun parts of the evening is getting to know new people and socializing with the sorority members. Here, everyone waits in line for the delicious food prepared by head chef Christopher. The Glee Club always enjoys a good meal at Alpha Phi!

The Ladies of Alpha Phi share a moment of networking and socializing with the Glee Club prior to the show.

The Glee Club’s resident “German foreign exchange” student, Jimmy O’Connor, sings a round of “The Happy Wanderer” for the ladies.

Junior Kevin Norman came up to sing the opening to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.

Alpha Phi really rocked out to the tunes of the Voiceovers, especially when they debuted their new tune, “Trashing the Camp”.

A member of the audience was chosen to pick the run out soloist, who happened to be Sophomore, Alan Summers. We just love audience participation!

SWEEP HER OFF HER FEET! Ba-na-na won the girls’ hearts with their love tunes and croons. Senior Barry Helfrich, Junior David Maurer, Senior Kyle Sutton, and Senior Jim Giberson always seem to melt some hearts wherever they go.

Before Ba-na-na left the stage, though, they couldn’t help but swoon another lady of Alpha Phi with their timeless song, “Earth Angel”.

Senior Manager Jim Giberson began the close of the night by singing a Glee Club traditional, “This is the Moment”.

After finishing with “Hail Purdue”, many Glee Clubbers stayed around to once again thank the Ladies of Alpha Phi for their hospitality and to say goodbye. The men of the PVGC were truly grateful for such a fun evening!
