Center Stage: Glee Club Spring Break Tour Day 1 and Day 2

Friday and Saturday, March 8 & 9, 2013

Glee Club

A little tired at their 5:30a.m. call time, some Glee Clubbers meet in the PMO lounge to relax before leaving on the busses.

Glee Club

Bags and properties line up all along Elliott Hall as the Glee Club prepares to load the busses.

Glee Club

Assistant Director Ted Arthur, Director of Operations Steve Schlenk, and a few Glee Clubbers spend some of the time on the bus playing a game.

Glee Club

A little trouble arises when traffic seems to stop the busses from making any progress toward getting to the show.

Glee Club

Thanks to our friends in Greeneville, TN including Scott and Nikki Niswonger, a couple of kind police officers are willing to help escort the busses to the show.

Glee Club

Welcoming the Glee Club in Greeneville is a little slice of home hanging above the stage.

Glee Club

Once at the venue, and already in full tuxes, Lighthouse starts off the sound check with a new song for spring break.

Glee Club

Flashbacks jams out on stage while warming up for the show.

Glee Club

Voiceovers rounds out the specialty warm-ups by singing with their a capella pop style.

Glee Club

After sound check, the Glee Club enjoys a lovely meal in advance of the show.

Glee Club

As the show starts in Greeneville, TN a local elementary school choir performs a few pieces for an excited crowd.

Glee Club

Shortly following the local choir, the Glee Club runs onto the stage.

Glee Club

After the Glee Club finishes its first few songs, Director Bill Griffel takes a moment to talk about the Glee Club and its repertoire.

Glee Club

Sometimes a little conflict arises on the stage, as is seen in the always fun song, "The Glee Club."

Glee Club

However, differences are overcome and the group can always be seen having a ball together on stage.

Glee Club

Voiceovers comes down and sings "It's Only a Paper Moon" in the Glee Club's "Nat King Cole Medley."

Glee Club

Junior Danny Hartman takes the microphone to sing "When You're Smiling."

Glee Club

Simultaneously, the rest of the Glee Club runs out to the audience to sing to some lovely ladies, such as Nikki Niswonger, a great friend to PMO and a member of our PMO Club.

Glee Club

Back on drums, Junior Andrew James rocks out to the beat of the music.

Glee Club

As the show concludes, Scott and Nikki Niswonger are brought up and given a token of our appreciation for all they do for PMO.

Glee Club

After the show ends, the gentlemen of the Glee Club travel overnight to Florida. They take a quick break to stretch and enjoy the southern sun at a rest stop the next morning.

Glee Club

A few Glee Clubbers take the chance to play some sports.

Glee Club

Finally, the Glee Club drives into Florida, and the change of scenery is apparent.

Glee Club

Freshmen Derick Dobson, Grant Nice, Jonah Stevenson and YeChan Lim enjoy a quick lunch before finishing the bus ride to head off to their homestays.

Glee Club

"Today, we had an early call time at 5:30 am. After all of the guys got the busses loaded with all of our equipment, it was time for us to climb aboard and head south. The afternoon came, and we arrived in Greeneville, TN at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. After setting up and going through sound check, and having a wonderful dinner, it was time for our show! The audience had a ton of energy, making the show even more fun. After the show, it was time to hop back on the bus and keep heading down to Florida. We arrived to Florida at about noon on Saturday. Once we arrived, everyone headed off to their homestays, and we were able to relax the rest of the day and get to know the people with whom we’d get to spend the week. What a great start to Spring Break!"

Yours In Song,
Austin Welch
