Center Stage: Glee Club at Oakbrook Community Church
Friday, November 2, 2012
Members of the Properties committee and the new men loaded the buses on Saturday to prepare for the performance in Kokomo, IN at Oakbrook Community Church.
The Glee Club sound technician was out sick, so Kaitlyn Tappenden filled in for the day and did a great job making the group sound balanced.
Once at the venue, everyone worked together to set up the risers in this familiar location; the Glee Club has performed annually for this group of people for quite a few years.
After a sound check with the Specialties and the full group, the gentlemen were fed a delicious catered meal of potatoes, green beans and fried chicken!
The Brothers in Song rocked the stage with this year’s opener, “Life is a Highway”.
Freshman Derick Dobson sang the first solo of the night in the “Indiana Medley”…
…and Sophomore Clint Buechler took the second in the same medley.
The gentlemen of the Glee Club entertained the audience with classic audience favorites, and a new song specifically for Kokomo.
New man Robby Hawkins led the group through “Come Fly With Me” as they ran out into the audience and serenaded some lucky ladies!
Flashbacks sang the Huey Lewis favorite “Power of Love” with great energy!
Ba Na Na debuted “Run Run Rudolph” as a teaser for what will come in the 79th Purdue Christmas Show this December!
The Glee Club had an excellent performance in Kokomo and ended the show with their favorite song, “Hail, Purdue!”
