Center Stage: Glee Club at First United Methodist Church
Sunday, May 6, 2012

Bright and early, the gentlemen of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club assemble for the last church services of the year. We’re right back where each New Man class has its first church service, First United Methodist Church of West Lafayette.

Director Bill Griffel and Assistant Director Ted Arthur prepare for the morning services.

After warm-up and sound check, the gents take some time for coffee and brotherhood.

The gents open the service with “Praise to the Lord”.

Filling the sanctuary with sound, the gents turn out and worship with all their might.

Mid-service, the guys take a seat for the sermon.

Returning to the altar, the gents perform “Lux Aurumque." This Eric Whitacre classic narrates the Nativity.

Lighthouse wants their names added to the heavenly roll in “Sign Me Up."

“How Sweet The Sound," a medley of hymns, is a favorite for church services and of the Glee Club.

After the services the men of the Glee Club take time to mingle with the members, family and friends. Here, Seniors Stephen DeWitte and Tim Harris converse with Mrs. Sandy Foerster, mother of Senior John Foerster.
