Center Stage: Glee Club Mother's Brunch

This Sunday was the annual Purdue Varsity Glee Club Mother’s Brunch in the North Ballroom of the Union, where families are invited to celebrate with the gentlemen the hard work and successful year they have had. New Man Clint Buechler shared this event with his parents Danny and Brenda Buechler for the very first time.

Senior Ethan Lapham sang a truly sentimental lavaliere to his mother who flew all the way to West Lafayette from Fort Myers, Florida.

Tim Harris, manager of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, delivered a powerful speech in front of all of the Glee Club families.

Tim’s speech was followed by a presentation from his mother, Marie Harris, in honor of the Mother’s Brunch. Marie gave a beautiful speech that was composed of kind words and stories from several other Glee Club parents.

As a special tribute at the event, the gentlemen sang “Mother’s Song,” a piece that was written and adapted by senior Steve Sanders.

All of the seniors have the opportunity to share touching and humorous memories from their years in Glee Club. Peter Carroll chose to describe a comedic mishap from his freshman year with the properties van!

Tim Harris and Simon May, the outgoing Manager and Assistant Manager of the Glee Club, stood with Bill Griffel and Ted Arthur. Tim was presented the Whip Award, and Simon the Chairman of the Sirs Award and the George & Jane Van Scoyoc Grindstone Award.
