Center Stage: Glee Club Spring Break Day 3
Tuesday, March 13, 2012

The Glee Club arrives at the Waldorf Jaycee Senior Center and eagerly begins set up for our first show in Maryland.

Lighthouse checks their levels as the audience begins to filter in.

The gents take the stage as the show begins. The theme of the day at the Senior Center was Saint Patrick’s Day.

Senior Billy Thiedeman serenades a lovely lady in the audience.

For many of our audience members, this is their first Glee Club show. The traditional run-out brings a smile to every face in the house.

Ba-Na-Na asks the audience to “Come and Go With Me."

After the morning’s show, the gents board the buses and head over to New Life Church in La Plata, and begin the second setup of the day for our convocation and show.

The guys show off their selling skills for students from several local high schools during our afternoon convocation.

The students from La Plata High School love it as the gents bring the show “up close and personal."

As the convocation comes to a close, the students and local arts committee members join us on stage to prepare for their part in the evening’s performance, performing “Battle Hymn of the Republic” with the Glee Club.

After dinner with the students, the gents don their tuxedos and fill the hall with music.

Flashbacks perform their “Billy Joel Medley” and bring the crowd in at “9 o’clock on a Saturday."

Ba-Na-Na brings the 50’s new life at New Life.

Senior Billy Thiedeman narrates “the Purdue Varsity Glee Club’s five minute version of, ‘The Wizard of Oz’.”

The gents conclude with one of our favorites, ‘Strike Up the Band’.

Junior Matthew Lancaster pins on the traditional white carnation. Hope to see you again, Maryland!

Daily Student Perspective:
After the long bus ride yesterday, the Glee Club was ready to get to singing! We started off the day with a performance at the Jaycees Center in Waldorf for an excited audience including some Purdue alums and spent the afternoon singing with local high school students from several different schools. My favorite part though was the show in the evening as it was my senior home show. I was so incredibly excited to bring the Purdue Varsity Glee Club to my hometown more than 700 miles away from campus to share our love of music, and of course my favorite part, my lavaliere of my mother which I will never forget.
In Song,
Billy Thiedeman
