Center Stage: PVGC and Purduettes at Northridge High School
The ladies and gentlemen of the Purduettes and Purdue Varsity Glee Club are excited to have a road show together! The men and women are excited to spend time together with their brothers and sisters in song. After the bus ride up from West Lafayette, a few new men and new women pose together for a picture.
Thank you to the Purdue Club of Elkhart County for bringing PMO to Northridge High School and a special thanks for providing such a delicious pizza lunch for all the hungry college students!
As the Purduettes wait their turn to do a sound check, the ladies touch up their hair and makeup. Here, new woman Julie Scherer aids fellow new woman Emily Scott in pinning her curls.
After the gentlemen are finished practicing, the ladies get the chance to adjust their lineup and get used to performing on the wide Northridge Show Choir risers.
The ladies enjoy the extra room as they have the change to go all out on their choreography!
As the show begins, the Northridge women's choir entertains the audience with their singing.
Next, the Purduettes take the stage to the exciting beat of "Brand New You."
Jeff directs the ladies in one of their newer songs, "What'll I Do?" In the tune, the altos sing of moving on after losing love.
Junior Caroline LaDue steals the show as she captivates the audience with the country song "Never Alone" by Lady Antebellum.
The ladies say their goodbyes to the audience as they close their set with "Checkin' Out!"
In between sets, sophomores Kathryn Johnson and Max Showalter give the audience a few laughs with their entertaining piano duet.
The Glee Club enters the auditorium in surround and encompass the audience in their sound with "Ambassadors of Song."
The gentlemen play to the audience as they sing of Gary, Indiana in their "Indiana Medley" featuring sophomore Jason Van Houten and senior Steve Sanders.
Senior Kyle Hoos gets the opportunity to lavaliere his girlfriend of four years Ashlee Wilcox with the love song "Can't Smile wihout You."
The gentlemen take the audience by surprise as they run offstage to personally serenade a few lucky ladies. Here, junior Matthew Lancaster sings "Slow Boat to China" to a special guest.
The gentlemen clear the risers as the Glee Club specialties take the stage. Here, BA NA NA sings of dance styles in the fifties - and displays them, too!
The Glee Club finishes out their set with their ever-entertaining five minute version of "The Wizard of Oz," featuring a few familiar characters.
The ladies and gentlemen of the Purduettes and Northridge High School choirs combine onstage with the Glee Club to sing the American Civl War song "Battle Hymn of the Republic." The combined sound of over 100 singers was truly inspiring!
The ladies and gentlemen of the Purduettes and Glee Club take time after the show to mingle with some of their guests. Here, the gentlemen keep the show going by singing the "Whiffenpoof Song" in the lobby.
