Center Stage: Purduette Worship Service at University Church
Sunday, January 29, 2012
The Purduettes were delighted to perform again at University Church! To begin the service, the ladies joined the congregation in song, singing “He Reigns.”
The Purduettes heartily backed up senior Allie Reith during the powerful gospel praise, “Shackles.”
As they sang “Shackles,” the ladies encouraged the congregation to clap along to this uplifting, lively tune.
Senior Marissa Williams ended the Hebrew piece, “Elohai N’tzor,” with an incredibly beautiful, high soprano solo.
The ladies were excited to debut a new piece, “Exaudi Laudate!” The song resonated beautifully in the church and sent chills through the congregation!
“Glory to God in the highest! And on earth, peace and goodwill to men!”
The ladies continue the service with the deeply touching tune “He is Beautiful to Me.” The song echoed Dr. Will’s sermon about God’s unfaltering love for humanity despite at times becoming lost on the path to forgiveness.
New woman Abby Everett begins the final piece, “Hosanna,” with a stunningly beautiful solo.
The Purduettes finished their set in praise with one of their most favorite songs. Their energy and sincerity was infectious!
When the service ended, the ladies enjoyed mingling with the congregation. Here, sophomore Kathryn Johnson speaks with Purduette mentors Linda Rohrman and Jennie Jones, as well as Purduette father John Shideler.
