Center Stage: Glee Club performs with Cornell University Glee Club
The Purdue Varsity Glee Club joined with the Cornell University Glee Club for a show. Cornell’s Glee Club started the show.
They continued with a tune called “And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda.”
The next song on the program was a wonderful Benjamin Britton song.
The men from Cornell powered through another song in their set.
Their specialty group “The Hang Overs” performed next with a few tunes.
They even gave a serenade to Purduette Diana Poulin.
The Cornell Glee Club closed out their set with some of their alumni joining them for their Alma Mater “Far Above Cayuga’s Waters.”
The men of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club waited in the wings while Cornell finished.
The men from Purdue filled the aisles with song.
Purdue Varsity Glee Club Director Bill Griffel gave the introduction for “America, We Arise.”
The guys were really into that song!
The Glee Club broke it down on “Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel?”
A small group led the Glee Club in the “Nat King Cole Medley.”
Senior John Foerster sang the run out to his mom, Sandy, in the audience.
The men sang out during the second half of the show.
The gentlemen of the Cornell Glee Club joined arms as the Purdue Varsity Glee Club showed camaraderie by singing their Alma Mater “Far Above Cayuga’s Waters.”
They followed the Cornell Alma Mater with their own Alma Mater “Purdue Hymn” as the alumni stood.
The basses of the Glee Club plead with the other sections, begging them to sing with them again on “The Glee Club.”
Senior Billy Thiedeman sang the solo on “God Bless The USA.”
The men of the Glee Club ended with the crowd favorite “Strike Up The Band” and provide interesting visuals as the song goes on.
They formed the trademarked Block P early in the song.
The men of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club and the men of the Cornell Glee Club joined together to sing “Ave Maria” to end the wonderful show.
