Center Stage: Glee Club Fall Break Tour Day 1
Friday, October 7, 2011

Junior Robert Lechner is ready to get on the road for Fall Break!

Sophomore Danny Hartman assists freshman Oluwaseun Onabanjo in loading the risers. Freshman Evan Phillips gets ready to load his riser next.

The men of the Glee Club get to work right away when we arrive in Crown Point, IN. A good setup is the key to a phenomenal show.

The women of Crown Point’s Bella Voce join the Glee Club for “Battle Hymn of the Republic."

After setting up and rehearsing, the guys build up quite the appetite. Here Autumn Bucy, our Director of Alumni and Donor Relations, joins the gents for dinner.

Sophomore Bryce Shaffer kicks off the show with “Time to Begin," a Ted Arthur original composition.

Junior Jason Ban serenades his hometown crowd.

Freshmen Kyle Ruschhaupt and Matt Mugumya entertain during the traditional run-out.

The boys of Ba-Na-Na unchain a melody or two during half-time.

The Tenor section bemoans not being able to go to Tosche Station for power converters during the Glee Club’s tribute to John Williams entitled “Star Wars."

The Glee Club had a blast in Crown Point!

Our first day of our first tour for 2011-2012! And what a great start it was. The properties committee had a quick and refreshing load onto the bus and we were off campus before the bell tower chimed 3:30. There’s a sense of excitement when you first pull out of Elliott’s driveway, ready for an extended tour, especially when the destination is a place as exciting as Chicago. In Crown Point the group harnessed and let loose that excitement to catapult ourselves into a great show. When I lay in the comfortable bed of a relaxing home stay, I thought to myself: "a bus ride with Star Trek, an invigorating properties setup and strike, and a show of enthusiastic success: how else would anyone want to jump into a fall tour?"
