Center Stage: PMO Fall Social
Sunday, September 25, 2011
Members from University Choir, Heart and Soul, Purdue Bells, Purduettes, and the Purdue Varsity Glee Club gathered in the Upper Sanctuary of University Church for the unveiling of the Christmas Show theme.
Everyone was kept in suspense as to what the set was going to look like. The concept behind the show was revealed to the cast and we're very excited to get busy with rehearsals.
Jenny Jacobs, manager of the Bells, and Alex Robinson, manager of the Purduettes, organized a series of team-building activities to unite the different ensembles in PMO during the Fall Retreat.
Freshman in the Varsity Glee Club, Jacob Shapiro, interviews another student in PMO to determine what their first impressions of each other were. Afterwards, they shared with the entire group some of the interesting facts they learned.
Students from all of the Purdue ensembles got a chance to mingle before working together on the Christmas Show.
Kirk Weathers, a freshman in the Glee Club, finds a friend during one of the activities.
One of the games that students played involved losing a shoe! Everyone traded shoes and introduced themselves to the owner of their original shoe. Check it out!
Members of the Purdue Bells work together to convey a charades skit to the next duo on their team. The message started out as “A bird flew over the ocean” and evolved into some sort of hula-dance!
The Fall Retreat ended with a catered Italian dinner that was delicious!
