Center Stage: PMO Parent Meet & Greet Brunch
Saturday, September 17, 2011
The PMO Parent Meet & Greet Brunch gave PMO Parents the opportunity to eat and mingle before the Purdue vs. Southeast Missouri State football game. The parents gathered on the Memorial Mall on a beautiful fall day to socialize and hear some music that the students have been working on this semester.
The Purdue Bells debuted a new type of playing in which the entire choir plays using the four-in-hand technique. Here, they are shown playing “Lollipop, Lollipop.”
After enjoying brunch, the guests played “Get to Know You Bingo,” where they had the opportunity to move around the tent and get to know their fellow Parents in Song.
“BINGO!” Here, a lucky PMO Parent is seen choosing a prize from the awards basket after winning a round of “Get to Know You Bingo.”
University Choir parent Karen Hernandez poses with Glee Club father Tom Blakley and shows off her winning Bingo card!
When the game ended, the parents had the opportunity to hear from four of the PMO choirs. Here, PMO Director Bill Griffel directs University Choir singing the spiritual “Nothin’ Gonna Stumble My Feet.”
Heart and Soul then stole the show with their new song “A Capella,” featuring graduate student Onyx Uzomah.
The Purduettes celebrated the beautiful day and event with their song “One Fine Day.”
The Purdue Varsity Glee Club entertained the parents with their new exciting song “Unbelievable.”
At the close of the event, the choirs and parents joined together to sing “Hail Purdue!” before watching Purdue beat Southeast Missouri State 59-0! We are already looking forward to seeing everyone back at next year’s PMO Parent Brunch!
