Center Stage: Glee Club Camp - Day 4
Thursday, August 18, 2011
The men of the Glee Club enjoy some breakfast after their morning exercise.
The guys rehearse an older favorite “Tribute to World Peace.”
Sophomore Nick Miller leads the guys in during rehearsal.
Assistant Manager Simon May explains to the gentlemen how to run off of the risers after a show.
Now back to rehearsing.
The ladies of the Purduettes join the men of the Glee Club for lunch.
After lunch, the ladies share some of the songs they had been working on with the guys.
Now it is the guys turn to show off what they had learned during the week.
Dr. Melissa Exum, Vice President for Student Affairs, stops by rehearsal to support the students she oversees in PMO.
She joins in on “Hail Purdue!”
The men of the Glee Club do a run through of “Strike Up The Band” for the girls as well.
After the Purduettes leave, it is back to rehearsal as normal for the guys.
Later in the afternoon, the New Men perform a show for the old men to put into use what they had learned this week.
Just look at those smiling faces! They sure are proud to be part of the world famous Purdue Varsity Glee Club!
The annual Talent Show was held after dinner to celebrate a great week of camp. Ba-Na-Na performs their new number, "Roll Over Beethoven."
Our last full day here at camp Tecumseh has been a great one! All glee clubbers look forward to the last day of camp for a variety of reasons. It marks the end of the first period of acclimation for the newmen, but the day also contains a number of festivities and traditions close to each of the club's members. We were able to hear our 2011-2012 sisters in song, the Purduettes, today, as well as perform for them! Singing for our first audience of the year is always a thrill, one that foreshadows the many emotions of the year to come! The fall season of shows is right on the doorstep; I cannot wait to live in it once more.
In Song, Michael Eldridge
