Center Stage: Purduettes at The Challenge 5K Run
Saturday, April 9, 2011

Purduettes Brittany Daniel, Leanne Shideler, Laura Bohlander, and Raylene Schramer pose for the camera at The Challenge 5K for Purdue Center for Cancer Research.

The event took place at Ross Ade Stadium where over 2,000 participants ran to raise money for the cure.

Purduette alumna and Indianapolis 500 Princess Amanda Haney helps out with the event!

The Purduettes clump together in the cold and wait for their moment to sing the National Anthem.

Ali Norman, a junior in the Purduettes, is also an Indianapolis 500 Princess who is devoting her time to the cause.

President France Cordóva, as a participant in the event herself, speaks from the heart to the many runners for this year’s Challenge.

Jeff Vallier, director of the Purduettes, leads the race in first place (although the race has not begun yet)!

And they’re off! The Purduettes had a great time giving their support to those with cancer and those who ran in the Challenge.
