Center Stage: Purduette Cancer Benefit Concert
Sunday, March 27, 2011
Every year the Purduettes team up with the Purdue Center for Cancer Research to present the Cancer Benefit Concert raising money to help cancer research. The theme is different every year with this years being Lymphatic Cancer in honor of Purduette sister in song, Chelsy Pala’s mother, Mindy.
The Purduette Trio entertained the audience with ‘A Tisket a Tasket.” During breaks from speeches, each of the specialties sang so the audience could enjoy music while bidding on silent auction items.
Purduette Director Jeff Vallier, Drummer David Pierrat, Bass Player Andrew Kasha and Assistant director John Ranard pose for a picture before the show begins.
The ladies start the show after listening to wonderful speakers and mingling with our tables.
Bringing back songs from Christmas Show, the ladies perform their Big Band Medley.
Purduette Alumna, Chelsea Pala, introduces the next song in memory of her mother.
Senior Katie Peine tells the audience about her relationship troubles in “Goody Goody”
Freshman Alyssa Wick and Diana Poulin take a break from mingling to pose for a picture.
After the show, winning silent auction bidders waited in line to pay for their items.
