Center Stage: Glee Club Spring Performance Tour - Day 8
Thursday, March 17, 2011

The men of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club were invited aboard the Scott Free, PMO supporter Scott Niswonger’s yacht in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for an afternoon of fun in the sun.

Scott Niswonger points out some of the local landscape to some members of the Glee Club.

The guys toured the engine room and looked at the twin engines that powered the yacht.

The draw bridge went up and we were off!

Many of the guys stayed on the upper deck and participated in various activities.

Some of them played spades and euchre.

Junior Mark Knight and Senior Ben Kline enjoyed the hot tub.

Other guys napped or read in the sun on the loungers.

All the while, beautiful houses and scenery were passing on both sides of the yacht.

The view from the wheelhouse was beautiful as well.

Fort Lauderdale was as sunny as ever and had perfect weather for a boat trip.

The yacht cruised past a ship from the Royal Caribbean cruise fleet, the Navigator of the Seas.

The gentlemen also enjoyed a nice boxed lunch on the boat.

Guys gathered after lunch to watch the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

Mr. Niswonger and the crew of the Scott Free gathered for a few songs by the guys.

The men started it off with “Ambassadors of Song”.

The ladies of the crew got a real treat with a run out from the guys.

The Glee Club made their way off of the yacht and back onto shore after a fun few hours to relax. Thanks again to Scott Niswonger and the crew of the Scott Free for allowing us to use such a wonderful craft for an afternoon.
