Center Stage: Bailey Hall Celebration

Guests sign in as they arrive for the Bailey Hall Celebration.

First up: the Purdue Bells to "ring" in the celebration.

Jeremy Chance and Amanda Haney, seniors in PMO, emceed the event.

Distinguished Purdue faculty, staff and PMO supporters greeted Ralph Bailey who watched the event via webcam.

Bettye Bailey joined us for the celebration. We thank both Ralph, Bettye and the entire Bailey family for making our future home, Bailey Hall, a reality.

Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Melissa Exum, joined distinguished Purdue faculty and staff, both past and present, in celebrating the announcement of Bailey Hall.

Purdue's President Dr. France Córdova was first to speak about all the hard work that has gone into creating the vision for Bailey Hall.

Bettye Bailey and her daughter Cinda expressed how much it means for their dream of Bailey Hall to come true. Thanks again to the Bailey family for all of your generosity and support!

Lisa Calvert, Vice President for Development, also spoke of her excitement for PMO's new home.

Finally, Bill Griffel, the Director of Purdue Musical Organizations, addressed the plethora of new opportunities Bailey Hall will provide for PMO.

PMO students surprise Ralph and Bettye with a special thank you.

The Purduettes share their musical talents with an emotional version of West Side Story's "Somewhere."

The men of Glee Club also sang, stating that "This is the Moment."

To close the celebration, PMO Director Bill Griffel led everyone in "Hail Purdue" and of course, President Córdova sang along!

A small brunch was provided after the ceremony to celebrate this momentus occasion.

PMO students mingled with Purdue faculty, staff and administrators and Bailey Hall supporters after the event.

Bettye Bailey kept busy talking to many grateful supporters and friends.

President Córdova stayed to chat with fellow PMO fans. Overall the Bailey Hall Celebration was a great success! Thanks again to Ralph and Bettye Bailey for making all of this possible. We can't wait to make music in Bailey Hall! Hail Purdue!
