Center Stage: Purduettes Barndance
Friday, October 1, 2010
The New Women gathered for a picture at their very first Purduette Barndance.
Seniors, Amanda Haney, Sarah Kretzman, Katie Peine, Emily Grimm and their dates enjoy dinner before the dancing begins.
"Circle Left." Once the festivities begun the ladies and gentlemen learned how to square dance with their dates and their friends.
The Caller of the evening, Gary Hutton, invited Sophomore Alyssa Prast to help as an example to show the rest of the group a square dance move.
Junior Kate Thomason got the chance to "move to the center and touch" with her square dance partner, a popular and easy dance move of the evening.
Senior Tara Knoop promenades her partner around the center back to their home spot.
Freshman Jenna Engleberth dances with her date
The Purduettes sang a run out to a friend of PMO. Then Floyd sang "Back Home Again in Indiana" in response to the ladies. The ladies were so excited to enjoy his musical rendition.
After the square dancing and break, the ladies began to line dance, including Senior Emily Grimm and her date.
This year director Jeff Vallier brought his family to Barndance including his daughter Julia, who made friends with Junior Hannah Burris.
New Women, Lauren King and Marissa Williams dance to "Shout" to one another after linedanceing.
Senior Katie Watson, Junior Abby Green and their dates pose for a picture during a break at the end of the evening.
Everyone had fun at Barndance, and everyone danced till they were all kicked out!
