PMO Callout
Thanks to everyone who attended our callout! If you missed the callout but want to learn more about joining PMO, please e-mail PMO Recruitment Director Jeff Vallier.

We're thrilled you’re interested in learning more about us! PMO, or Purdue Musical Organizations, is Purdue's vocal music department. We offer five choral ensembles and one handbell choir.

As you may already know, Purdue has no school of music so our students are majoring in everything but music! Each of our ensembles offers different opportunities and varied levels of time commitment.

Whether you’re looking to make music your primary extracurricular activity or you just want to find a way to be involved with music on your own schedule, WE HAVE A PLACE FOR YOU and all levels of musicianship are welcome.

At PMO, music brings us together, but it’s not the only thing you’ll find. We offered nearly $320,000 in scholarships to our students this year. We also provide opportunities to travel all over the state, country and world.

Opportunities abound for networking with potential employers, securing internships and meeting prominent Purdue alumni and administrators. There are numerous service opportunities available to PMO students including recent collaborations with the Ronald McDonald House, Riley Children’s Hospital and Food Finders.

Perhaps the best part of participating in PMO is the lasting friendships you’ll make once you join. Through fun events such as our annual PMO retreat, you’ll get to know all the students in PMO and you’ll be a part of our family where everyone is just as passionate as you are.

Concerned about balancing your schedule between academics and extracurricular activities? Many of our students expressed this before auditioning. Through participation in PMO, students refine their time management skills and accomplish more than they ever thought possible, even in the most challenging of majors. PMO provides numerous resources to help students stay on track including grade checks, study buddies and incentives for getting good grades.

Singing the national anthem in Super Bowl Village, visiting The Tonight Show, kissing the Blarney Stone in Ireland, going on safari in South Africa, golfing on the Old Course in Scotland, entertaining outside Grauman’s Chinese Theater, shaking hands with Purdue alumnus Neil Armstrong, sharing the stage with celebrity William Hurt and touring The White House are just a few highlights PMO students have experienced during the last few years.

Want to learn more? Come to our PMO Callout at 7PM on Tuesday, August 20, 2013! The callout will be held outside the Elliott Hall of Music by the Bell Tower. The map below illustrates where we'll be. The gold oval is the site of our callout and the blue rectangle is University Church, which is where our ensembles rehearse.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about PMO. Remember, no matter what your musical background is and no matter what time commitment you’re looking for, WE HAVE A PLACE FOR YOU!
We hope to see you soon!
Yours in song,
PMO Students & Staff
