Vehicle Training

The Custodial Educational Development Program (CEDP) is a comprehensive five day, forty hour hands-on learning experience. This program is the premier preparation event for all new employees who are hired in the Building Services Department.  Regardless of an employee's level or duties this training prepares each team member for the challenge of maintaining our campus facilities in a clean, hospitable condition.  Included in this week of training is the New Employee Orientation, the QSP Core and all of the OSHA mandated safety training to further prepare our staff to perform successfully on the job.

The emphasis of the CEDP is on the processes and procedures for cleaning the diversity of occupied spaces on campus: classrooms, offices, laboratories, restrooms, halls, walls, floors of terrazzo, wood, carpet and vinyl too! Learning the operation and maintenance of automated labor saving state of the art equipment is featured in the training as well. Additionally, the safe use and handling of a variety of chemicals and cleaning agents is emphasized throughout the weeklong training.

The trainers for this intensive training program come from the administrative/professional ranks of the Department as well as the top performers from the field too. Their expertise enables this program to succeed in training our new team members for success on the job and providing first-rate customer service to our students, staff and faculty all across campus.

The CEDP is offered periodically through out the year on a needs driven basis. The determining factor is the number of new hires in the department.  Please contact Physical Facilities Training for exact dates and times: pftraining@purdue.edu
