When a Physical Facilities procedure has a related University policy, the procedure is specific to Physical Facilities. The procedure has been developed to allow us to have a consistent direction throughout Physical Facilities and to operate within the University policy in the most efficient manner while meeting our business needs.

Specific Procedures

The following Physical Facilities procedural language will supplement the content of Executive Memorandum No. C-45 “Re: Revised and New Leave of Absence Policies for Clerical and Service Staff”

I. Paid Sick Leave
E. Employee Notice Requirements
3. If the sick leave is not foreseeable, the employee, or another person on the employee's behalf, must notify the employee's supervisor or department head no later than one hour prior to the scheduled start of the employee's workday, unless instructed otherwise by the employee's supervisor or department head.

The following Physical Facilities procedural language will supplement the content of Executive Memorandum No. C-46 “Re: Revised and New Leave of Absence Policies for Faculty, Continuing Lecturers, and Administrative Professionals.”

Due to business needs the following is a modification to this procedure:
Transportation: Bus drivers scheduled for a trip are to notify the crew chief as soon as they know they are too ill to do the trip, but no less than 3 hours before their report time; preferably the night before.
