What is NEO?
You may or may not be aware that the Physical Facilities New Employee Orientation (NEO) started in July 2007 as a collaborative effort from our Senior Directors, Directors, Physical Facilities Human Resources, Training, Payroll, and Computing departments as well as various departments in Business Services including the Shared Service Center and Benefits (to name a few) and ITaP’s security team. In the spring of 2012, the program was revised to include the new University Wide NEO program.
The idea behind the program is to provide a welcome to our new employees. The program also relieves the supervisor from various logistical duties such as making sure that a new employee completes appropriate forms and paperwork, gains access to the computer, obtains all permits and staff identification cards, etc. Lastly, the program allows for a payroll record to be established in a timely manner so that time can be entered and the first paycheck delivered on time.
NEO is designed to align with the hire dates of our new employees and is provided every Monday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., except when a holiday falls on a Monday. The University Wide NEO program is not available during these weeks. Please consult with your Human Resource Specialist first regarding the job offer periods associated with each NEO session.
